• He was baptised on 6 June 1798 in Cheviot Street Pres. Church, Wooler, Northumberland, England. (This is one possible date for Robert's baptism. The date agrees with his claimed age, but Wooler is some distance from Ancroft, his claimed birth place. Also note Bapt. Date: 23 Feb 1796. This is another possible baptism record for Robert. Warenford is fairly close to Ancroft where he said he was born, but the date is two years earlier than his claimed age. Note his death record gives an age of 57 in January 1856, which gives a birth date of 1798, further weakening this baptism identification. His census records are all consistent with a 1798 birth date).⁶
