Research Note: The only evidence for this marriage is the possibility of an Annie Bell being the namesake of Annie Coxon, who was sure she was named after a great aunt. However the only relatives found at the temperance hotel in Rothbury are Ann Coxon, #214 m Joseph Scott #215. As at 28/11/06 no trace of John T after the census of 1871. Therefore the marriage is highly suspect.

• William Proctor lived William came from Antrim in Northern Ireland. It is said that he ran away from home as a young boy aged 14 years. In 1881 we find him boarding in Lamesley. He married in 1881 at South Shields. His first children were born in the Lamesley/Wreckenton area. He appears to have moved to Lintz Colliery, on the outskirts of Burnopfield, during 1890 in time for William's birth. By 1901 the family were living at Birtley.^1,2,3
