Cause of death: Suicide while labouring under temporary insanity. Certificate received from Charles(?) Percy, Coroner for Northumberland. Inquest held 27th December, 1893. Registered 1 January 1894
(Note: It would seem likely that Thomas' suicide may have been due to the loss of his wife the December before. He committed suicide one year later, the day after Christmas".^4,5
